Kid Faces Are The Best

I love all the funny faces kids make.  My 3 year old has quite the repertoire of faces that make me giggle.  He makes faces at the most random times which is maybe why they are so funny.

I capture a lot of great kid faces during sessions and as I go through photos I always wonder which face is what the mom looks at and says, "hey, that's my kid!!".  I hope I am always able to capture the true kid for every mom, which doesn't always mean a beautiful smile.

These kids were a blast and we had so much fun!  We got lots of adorable smiling faces, and then a few funny looks thrown in too.  Looks like they are ready for the 4th of July - next week already!!

100th Post!

This is blog post 100, so that's pretty cool.  July means I have officially been an LLC for 1 year, and that's pretty exciting too.  Maybe if you keep an eye out on my blog, I'll post some sort of *deal* to celebrate!  How exciting does that sound?!  (I'm wondering how many eye rolls are happening right now)  Well anyhoo...

I'm finally getting around to posting these photos, and I was kind of excited to get these up since they are different then my normal baby/kid/family fare you see a lot of here, but I LOVED it!!  My cousin wanted some photos for her modeling portfolio and we threw in some for her senior photos as well.  This shoot was a blast and I can't wait to book some more seniors!

PS- do you know this neighborhood?  It's one of my favorites in St. Paul but I don't get there much since it's such a hike.  There's one big clue photo below.

Wedding!

I am still very new to photographing weddings, but I am really enjoying them!  I guess one of the reasons is that it reminds me of my wedding day and I really love being able to capture those wedding day moments since I remember that day just flying by!  In case you were interested, weddings were how I first got interested in photography 7 years ago, when I was a bridesmaid in my friend Erin's wedding.  I thought, what a fun job that must be to hang out with happy, dressed up people all day!  :)  Shortly after that my first DSLR was purchased.  Who knew a wedding would eventually change my career path from engineer to photographer?

The most recent wedding I photographed I was lucky enough to work with Bethany Noelle Photography as a second shooter.  She was so much fun to work with and it was a great afternoon.  You can see some of the shots from that wedding in this post!

I am also looking forward to continuing my relationship with Chloe Photography who I got to tag along with on my first wedding last month.  I am going to have the opportunity to intern with Chloe later this summer, so I am really looking forward to that as well!

And I just thought this one was cute :)

Newborn Style

Do you remember this post?   Well baby arrived and he is cute as a button!  I think the photos in this post will prove that too :)

Since we are on the topic of newborn sessions, I thought that this would be a good time to mention that I will be changing the description of my newborn session a bit.  I am moving towards more lifestyle sessions and my photos hopefully have shown that.  I always try to include some lifestyle photos (no heavy posing, more of baby in his/her element) even from my studio, but I will be encouraging newborn sessions to be done in your home.  I feel that this way, I am able to capture more of that newborn moment in time, something that you will treasure down the road :)  We will still be able to do some loosely posed shots if you like, but they will be minimal.

You can look for the newborn session description to change in the coming weeks, but until then here is an example of what you might be able to expect...
