My son found an app that costs $35.  Not sure how a 4 year old finds an app that costs that much but it is an anatomy and physiology app that is actually pretty impressive - although not impressive enough for me to pay for it right now.  I'm guessing it is aimed towards medical students because it has all these cool videos that diagram different systems in the body.  I figure he can use the free option and learn about the respiratory system for now and if he's lucky maybe Santa will buy the app for him so he can go on to learn about the brain, which is the reason he wants it.  Crazy kid.

I always love seeing this family!  Such cute kids, and the baby of this family just turned 1!

Changing Colors

Yesterday was the first official day of fall and that makes it officially my favorite time of the year!  I love the colors and the cooler temperatures, and of course hot chocolate.

The leaves are just starting to change color and the grass is getting brown so it was perfect for an evening session over the weekend.  Some beautiful evening light on a beautiful family!

Go Fly A Kite

Today turned into a windy afternoon and that reminded me I had some cute family photos I needed to share here related to a perfect blustery day activity - kite flying!  We all know that windy days are perfect for kite flying, or Mary Poppins :)

One of the activities for this family session was kite flying and I love how these photos showed how much fun this family has together!

West Medicine Lake Park is always a great place when it comes to family photos because it has almost any kind of backdrop you are looking for - tall grass, water, beach, rocks, bridges, and even a playground (although that can be distracting for the youngest family members).

I had a great time with this extended family session!  West Medicine Lake Park for the win again :)

There is something awesome about 2 yr old girls, and I'm not talking about the amazing tantrums they are able to have over their hair style (no pony tails are allowed in my house!).  What I love is the beginning of the dress-up phase, particularly the love of fairy wings!  I think there are two or three pairs of fairy wings in my house, one is completely bent out of shape since it gets worn to bed on occasion.  Another pair has been kept bed-free for her every day wear.  :)

I thought it was so great this 2 yr old brought along her wings for some photos!  Maybe one of the best little girl props ever - although the cowboy hat is pretty adorable too!
