Summer Birthdays

That picture shows why summer birthdays are a blast!!  I always wanted a summer birthday but I was stuck with winter themed ones - ice skating anyone?

These photos are from a 5 yr old birthday bash and I love how cute these little girls are!

The girls made sure the dog got some good attention and the dog made sure to soak up every second of it.

Getting ready to blow out the candle... (not sure what was going on here but I love the expressions)

Fall Mini Sessions

Fall Mini Sessions = The perfect opportunity to get your holiday card, family, or kid photos!

The location is Doris A. Kemp Park which is right off of Hwy 169 in Champlin.  It is fairly close to the river so I'm hoping we can catch some of that fall color before it disappears.

I can maybe squeeze in one more time that day if I get a lot of takers!  Please email me if you would like to book a time or if you have any other questions:  kmephoto@gmail.com

West Medicine Lake Park

This photo session was my first time taking photos at West Medicine Lake Park in Plymouth, MN, and it won't be my last!  Of course it was a beautiful day out so there were a lot of people on the beach so we didn't get any shots there - maybe next time!

This handsome guy was pretty pumped to be turning 1!  He even did a one-armed "so big" to show off.

This could possibly be the cutest family ever!

The Dunning School

A couple of weeks ago I shared some photos from J.'s 1 yr old photo session.  After his time in the spotlight I also was able to get some photos of his whole family, and J.'s brother and sister finally got to play with the balloons!
The location was somewhere I had never been before but I was glad that J.'s mom mentioned it!  It is the Dunning School in Champlin and what a cool little spot for photos!

Back to school photos anyone??  How cute would that backdrop be with some books, a backpack, and an apple for props!

3 Yr Old Photos

I love the idea of having a designated photo session each year to celebrate a birthday and to capture how much kids grow every year!  The time really does fly by, and it is so important to capture the moments when your kids are little.  I know when I look back on my kids' photos one day I will be a teary-eyed mess!!

C. just turned 3 and his mom asked me to do his 3 yr old photo shoot.  The weather couldn't have been nicer after we had rescheduled a couple of times already due to the high heat the previous month.   This 3 yr old was a ton of fun and full of energy so we made sure to capture him doing some activities!

Kid somersaults are the best!!

I think these balance bikes are just awesome!

This sweetie of a pooch is a 5 yr old Cockapoo looking for his forever home.  He has a great personality and loves to socialize with people and dogs.
You can find out more about Harper on the SDR website!  If you meet him you may just want to adopt him.  :)

Small Dogs

If you have read the About Me section of this blog then you would already know that I volunteer with the group Small Dog Rescue of Minnesota (or SDR) and take photos of some of the dogs looking for their forever homes.

Here are a couple of cuties that I recently photographed and are available for adoption:

Beanz

Molly

I will keep posting photos of the dogs I have sessions with, so keep checking out my blog if you are interested in adopting!

A Couple of Couples

Today I noticed that I had forgotten to add "Couples" to the list in my gallery.  Well, in order to ensure that people know that I do photograph couples (and love every second!) I immediately went into my blog code to change that.  I'd like to think that the C++ I was forced to take in college is finally paying off, but really it was just an easy copy and paste procedure.

And now to share some photos from a couple of recent Couple photo sessions (no pun intended)  :)

Sara and Nate are getting married in 2012 so this was part of their engagement photo session.  We went to St. Anthony Main and got a bunch of photos taken right before a thunderstorm rolled in - perfect timing!  Aren't they a cute couple?!  And smart too - they are both in med school!

Theresa and Nic were celebrating their anniversary so we had a fun photo shoot that included chickens!   It was a HOT day, so everyone was sweating, but we were having so much fun that we hardly noticed.    You may have noticed their smiling faces on my blog slideshow header, but I wanted to share some more...

If you are interested in a "couple" photo session please contact me!

Baptism Day for Miss S.

Yesterday I photographed a baptism for my friend's daughter at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.  Miss S. did wonderfully and didn't cry at all!  She was the perfect baby and she is ridiculously cute too!!

Isn't she just a doll?

1st Birthday Photos

Little man J. is turning one and got to celebrate with a bunch of balloons and photo shoot!  His family got to join in the fun too, but I'll post some of those photos a little later.  Until then you get to enjoy some cuteness!

Senior Photos

About a week ago I had my first "senior" photo session.  I use quotation marks because it wasn't a high school senior, but college seniors can have their photos taken too, right?  Maren is a senior this year majoring in music, and she plays the cello, so it was only fitting that her cello join in the session.  Here are just a couple shots I wanted to share.
