Romie! He is just a wonderful, sweet little guy!! Romie has a human angel who rescued him from a high kill shelter in California and shipped him to Minnesota to help him find a new family. You would never know it from the photos but Romie is pretty much blind. He was unsure of the leaves during his photo shoot but he wasn't nervous and "looked" at the camera when I said his name. He is a fabulous dog and would love to have a home where he can relax as a lap warmer :)
You can find adoption information for Romie at the Small Dog Rescue site!

My gosh, I wish I could take him home with me! He's so cute - great photos, KQ.
I wanted to take him home too!!! Thanks :)
I am jackie the one that rescued Romie from a high kill pound in California. He got kennel cough and the shelter was going to kill him that day. I could not bear knowing i stood by letting anyone kill a maltese. I have a 13 year old who is the love of my life. So I flew Romie to me, sick with kennelcough he was motionless and emotionless. As he got better his little personality came out. I miss him so much but I have two dogs and can ony have 2 where i live now so i surrendered him to SDR. They are an awesome organization. They did not bat an eye to get Romie a much needed Dental that would have cost anyone of us at least 2000 dollars! I fostered romie thru the pain of having 11 teeth pulled. He would cry and moan in his sleep but the moment i would lay my hand on him he would stop. He just needed to know i was still by him. I still cry every time i see these beautiful pictures of him. I am so grateful SDR took him under thier wing. But all along the moment my friend pulled him in California from the jaws of death he was safe and no matter what i was determined to make sure he remained safe. I pray SDR will find him the most loving and perfect home. If i lived else where that would still be with me. I miss this little guy who when i got home from work, I would say Romie how are you? And he would respond with a couple dances in a circle and then two barks! I love him so much and want you all to know he may be blind but he can find his way around it is truly amazing. He will even take a walk with you and walk along side you. Thank you Lord for helping me to save this precious little guy!
Also thank you KME for the photos how beautiful you brought out his inner and outer beauty thank you so much!
Jackie
You did a wonderful thing saving him - you are his angel :)
