Real Life Instagram

I bought a Holga camera a few years ago and recently found it buried in a drawer while doing some spring cleaning last week.  (What is a Holga?  It is a little plastic toy camera that uses medium format film.)  When I found my camera last week I realized that I was half way through a roll of color film, so I decided to finish that sucker off!  So I took a bunch of photos of my kids, and then I found a roll of black and white film and decided to burn through that too.  I figured I might as well get two rolls developed at the same time!

One fun thing about film is that you have to WAIT to see the images you took!  Here are a couple of the first images on that color roll...

These photos are from a year ago!!  I think some developer worked really hard trying to save a few of my baby photos.  Note to self: Holga works best outside!

Here are some photos from the rest of the color roll that I took last week...

And here are some from the black and white roll...

These photos were all an experiment to see what I could do with the camera.  I didn't modify any of the images other then web sharpening and adding my watermark.  With practice I hope I can get the focus points and lighting down.

Right now my Holga is sitting empty, but I think it's time to refill that film and get started again  :)
