Sassy

Sassy was recently rescued from an Iowa puppy mill and came to Small Dog Rescue of Minnesota to find her forever family.  When Sassy arrived in Minnesota she was covered in matted hair and feces, her ears have been damaged by frostbite from living in the outside conditions year round, her paw pads had sores from standing in her own urine, and her nose was scraped up from begging to be let out of her cage.  These are the horrible conditions dogs face in puppy mills and it's hard to believe they happen so close to home, or that people are actually capable of such horrible treatment to such innocent sweet animals - all in the name of making a buck.  If you didn't already know, if you buy from a pet store you are most likely supporting puppy mills and the horrible treatment of dogs just like Sassy before her rescue.

After reading about what she has lived through in her first 3 years of life don't you think she deserves all the best from now on?  She may have the name Sassy but she is most definitely a little sweetie!  Sassy loves attention and will give you kisses when you pet her, and even though she is still scared of a few things she is a smart girl and is already working on potty training.  I hope sweet Sassy finds her forever home to live out the rest of her life on a comfy couch!

Sassy will be available for adoption with Small Dog Rescue once her spay is completed.

Sassy, just hanging out with my kids while they eat kale  :)
